WWE Extreme Rules

The Pay-Per View opened with the Kane/Orton Falls Count Anywhere match, before it actually got under way a promo played bringing people up to speed on the rivalry. The match itself kicked off with Orton being knocked from the ring and Kane revealing a Lead Pipe, only to have it be taken by Orton. Orton beat Kane with it as Kane ran for the crowd, there the match turned back and forth between the superstars. As the match lead to the Entrance Ramp and Backstage, Kane was winning until Zac Ryder appeared to aid Orton. The match eventually then went mostly Ortons way as he and Kane returned the ring. There in the climax of the match Kane tried for a Tombstone on Orton atop a chair, but Orton broke out countering it into a RKO to grab the pinfall.

Following the match backstage John Laurinaitis and Eve Torres belittle Teddy Long on his new job at WWE, as it transitions to Brodus Clay's entrance. Brodus is set to face off with Dolph Ziggler accompanied by Jack Swagger and Vickie Guerrero. During this boring match, Swagger's interference allows Ziggler to lock in a Sleeper Hold that Brodus counters out leading to him to make a comeback. With this comeback he defeats Ziggler without any issues, and the PPV keeps on rolling along.

Next match is the Intercontinental Championship match, Big Show vs Cody Rhodes in a Tables Match. During Show's entrance a re-cap of his victory at Wrestlemania is shown. The match itself opens with Big Show just destroying Rhodes. No matter what Cody tried to do to counter Show, it just blew up in his face. Eventually thou due to controversy Rhodes managed to beat the Big Show as Show's own weight broke a table when Rhodes forced him to step onto it. As Rhodes celebrating winning the Intercontinental Championship, Show attacked him and threw him through two tables that were previously set up. One of the those tables were outside the ring, meaning Cody had a great fall like Humpty Dumpty!

Moving along, backstage Matt Striker runs into Daniel Bryan for an interview before his 2-Out of-3 Falls Match for the World Heavyweight Championship. Bryan cuts this promo great, and actually has the crowd behind him the entire time. Upon him ending the interview and leaving for the ring, AJ appears in the background like a broken-heart stalker. As Bryan enters the arena the crowd is still behind him, and against Sheamus for almost the entire match. The match started off with Sheamus almost picking up the first fall fast, like he did at Mania then lead to shock the crowd by going for a quick submission. Bryan breaks out and lands several strikes allowing him to then work on Sheamus' arms. For minutes, Bryan assaults Sheamus' arms until Sheamus manages to build some steam for a counter. This comeback ends thou when Sheamus is sent into the ring post and Bryan attacks the arms again. As Bryan assaults the arms, Sheamus goes to holds the ropes as the referee starts the 5-Count. The referee gets to 5 and Bryan doesn't release forcing the ref to call the first fall a DQ on Bryan making it Sheamus 1-0.

Following the first fall, Bryan drags Sheamus to mat locking in the Yes-Lock. Sheamus doesn't tap but actually passes out from the pain, as that decides the second fall to Bryan tie the 2-Out of-3 Falls. With Sheamus out cold, Bryan begins to celebrate as Doctors rush down to check on Sheamus. This makes the crowd go into a frenzy of "Yes'!" and "No's!" Sheamus chooses to continues and the match goes on. Bryan rushes right into the Brogue Kick, but manages to kick out of the pinfall. With both now exhausted Bryan messes up on a comeback falling into another Brogue Kick allowing Sheamus to pick the final fall to retain the World Heavyweight Championship.

Next up was a boring squash match, of two jobbers facing Skip Sheffield's new persona Ryback in a handicap match. This match was completely boring and all Ryback's way, as fans shouted for "Goldberg!". Backstage Striker has another interview with the Hometown Hero and WWE Champion CM Punk, who was preparing for his match. Punk practically lays out that tonight in Chicago he'll defeat Jericho, with his family in the front row to witness it.

The Street Fight for the WWE Championship, Punk was defending against Chris Jericho. The match opened up with both men striking one another, as Punk exits the ring to bring in Steel Chairs and a Kendo Stick. Jericho uses dirty tactics to avoid and counter Punk. As Jericho took control, he works Punk over in and out of the ring. At one point he begins to beat Punk in front of his sister, only for her to slap him allowing Punk to fight back. Just Jericho fights back and wears down Punk, leading for Jericho to get in some showboating. As Jericho waists time Punk recovers and fights back, trying for a GTS but fails. Punk soon gets a better advantage when he hits his Savage Elbow Drop, just Jericho manages to kickout of the pinfall and counter another GTS. From the countering of the GTS, Jericho locks in the Walls of Jericho on Punk!

Punk crawls to the ringside, to reach under and pull out a fire extinguisher. Punk then uses the fire extinguisher to blast Jericho in the face allowing Punk to break the Walls, and beat down Jericho some more. Punk knocks Jericho out of the ring and onto the announce table where he then hits another elbow drop breaking the table. He drags Jericho back into the ring and goes for an unsuccessful cover followed by the Anaconda Vice. Jericho manages to reach for the kendo stick to smash Punk in the head to break the hold. Jericho then hits a Codebreak followed by an unsuccessful pinfall. He grows cocky and goes for a GTS to try ending the match, but Punk breaks loose hitting the move on Jericho to pick up the victory. Punk then goes to celebrate with his family.

Backstage Eve runs into the Beth Phoenix and the Bella Twins who prepare for their Divas' Championship match. There Eve tells Beth that she still unable to compete due to injury, but that Nikki will still have to defend her title tonight against an unknown opponent. The Bella Twins head to ring for Nikki's match where they discover her opponent is the returning Layla. Upon her return Layla puts on a great performance, including the fact she manages to out do Twin Magic and defeat Brea Bella in Nikki's place for the Divas' Championship.

As we come to the Main Event: Lesnar/Cena Extreme Rules, Brock enters in his UFC Gear while Cena brings with him his padlock necklace, hopefully his equalizer. In the opening seconds Cena is taken right down by Brock, and busted right open. Doctors rush to check on Cena, as Cena tries to lunge at Brock again only to keep getting destroyed. Sometime into Cena's destruction Brock ties Cena to ring post by his feet with his own chain to beat him down some more. Cena counters out but fails, while Brock goes for the the downed ref they knocked out minutes earlier. After getting in the ref, Brock goes for Cena going right to the finish hitting an F-5 that takes out Cena and the recovering ref. As another referee comes to make the pinfall, Cena breaks out and Brock enraged assaults the second ref. Brock then goes to work on Cena's arm atop the ring steps he brought into the ring, Cena fights out with a Spinebuster as his arm just looks destroyed as it hangs limp.

Following the Spinebuster he goes for Leg Drop from the top rope, that misses and as he misses Cena rolls from the ring as Brock comes to. Brock then stand atop the steps waiting for Cena to return to the ring. As Cena pulls himself to the apron, Brock lunges at Cena sending them both onto the arena floor. Brock gets up fast, and goes back into the ring to go for the tackle again as Cena slowly load his fist up with the padlock necklace. With Brock unaware of Cena's loaded right hand he rushes right into see, not expecting the huge counter that was to come. Cena with that loaded right bashes right into Brock's skull busting him open as Cena gets into the ring sizing up the AA atop the ringsteps. Cena hits the move perfectly, and goes for the pinfall as the ref come to making the pinfall. Cena wins the match, getting the pinfall as doctors rush to check on him. Minutes pass, during Cena's celebration before he goes for a mic and cuts a great promo. Mostly about the crowd in Chicago, along with what seemed to be a goodbye to crowd if his arm was actually injured what during this match as the PPV came to close. As for now check WWE.com for any updates on if Cena's actually injured or not and stay tuned for the WRW Extreme Rules post show!
